Teacher needs to prepare graph before class begins OR
teacher can also instruct children to create a graph and do up a chart in class!
Prompt children will question which will require children to compare and analyze on statistics.

How many more?
Which is the most?
Which has the least?
Patterning stage 2/3

Teacher need to begin teaching pattern through activities that involves children such as

Simple Addition
Teacher to teach addition using hands – on material such as toys car or picture cut outs. Introduce to children addition in writing on white board e.g. 2 + 2 = 4
*Replace numbers o picture as a beginning for simple understanding of concepts.
Then proceed by placing picture beside number.
Once children as mastered the construction of sentencing in addition, allow children to create their own addition sums.
Teacher needs to use correct terminology such as “add” and “equal” when introducing symbols to children.
Simple Subtraction
Children need to be taught addition before being introduce to concept of subtraction.
Discuss with children the definition of subtract / minus / take away.
Once children has the understanding of concept then introduce teaching using hands- on
materials such as objects or picture cut out.
